The Quetzal of Central America, the Mayan’s sacred bird, is fast disappearing, as are their food source, the avocados. The wood of the avocado trees are coveted and they are being cut down at a rapid rate. My hope for this Quetzal with the avocado in his mouth is to be able to re-seed the avocado. With self-care, it can adapt and find its home in other parts of the land. As in this ecologically changing time, we find ourselves needing to transform and build new patterns.
